Booking FAQ's

What type of music do you play?

DGB can provide a wide variety of music and have an extensive and varied library of music from well known, popular tunes to a more traditional and classical brass band repertoire. We are happy to try and accommodate requests where we possibly can, so if you would like to hear something specific, then do let us know when you contact us about a booking!

What type of engagements can you accept bookings for?

Dronfield band accept bookings for a range of events and occasions. As well as sit down concerts, we can also provide music for Gala's/garden parties, weddings, funerals and private events, We have a small group ensemble also available to book (see below) should you not be requiring a full compliment of players.

Do you only do 'full band' engagements?

No- We can offer options for small group ensembles as well if space is limited! Just let us know your requirements when you enquire.

How long is a typical concert?

A 'typical' concert normally takes the format of 2x 45 minute spots with a 30 minute interval to allow the band to refresh, however this can be broken down into other formats. Please speak to your point of contact within DGB if you have a specific requirement.

Is there a fee payable to book the band?

The cost of running the band as well as the upkeep and maintenance of instruments, purchase of music and hire of rehearsal facilities, sadly all adds up! Therefore, in order to ensure the long term sustainability of the band, a fee is requested for the bands appearance. This can be discussed with your point of contact upon enquiring about booking the band.

Can you make appearances for free for charity?

Unfortunately, due to the number of requests we receive to provide our services free of charge for charity events, and the extensive costs of running a band, this is not something we are able to accommodate. Instead, we nominate an individual charity on an annual basis to benefit from a variety of fund raising efforts and activities throughout the year. If you would be interested in nominating your charity as a beneficiary then please see here for more information.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
